How to survive in ShenZhen with a low cost

1. Food

2. Water

water from open public locations (like airport, library, and so on

bottled water

For example, BaoAn airport(宝安国际机场T3航站楼), NanShan Library(南山图书馆)

For some places, if they ask you to show a ticket, you buy one, then return it when possible.

3. Bathroom

Pee

A place that has plants and when you pee, no one sees you

Shit

some open public locations, they will provide a room for you to shit

(If you need it badly enough, you could also refer to the pee location

For example, BaoAn airport(宝安国际机场T3航站楼), NanShan Library(南山图书馆), HanJing Financial Center(汉京大厦, near Tencent building in NanShan area)

Take a shower (淋浴)

A place where no one sees you, and you use paper/towel + water to clean your body.

Some locations that provides shower services.

For example, NanShan Cultural And Sports Center(南山文体中心体育馆), ShenZhen Genius Park Shower Place(深圳人才公园 淋浴房), swimming pool

Clean your body manually with the help of towel

You can do it wherever has hot water

4. Wash cloths

Some locations provides machines that could do it

For example, 24-Hours-Open cloth wash room SuiYangYiFang(水漾衣坊自助洗衣房, near 文体中心)

You could use sandals to prevent unnecessary shoe cleaning.

5. Power Supply and Network

KFC, McDonald’s

Library

Airport

And so on

6. Package Receiving

Some office-buildings or hotels will provide such a service.

Or, you could use CaiNiaoYiZhan.

For example, HanJing Financial Center(汉京大厦, near Tencent building in NanShan area), BaoAn Airport KaiYue Hotel(凯悦酒店, Airport Package Service Point(机场快递营业点)

7. Extreme Living Package (For super low cost

For Baixiang-Instant-Noodles(白象方便面)， in TaboBao, they got a cheap type that only costs you 1.5 CNY.

So that you could buy 1+2+2==5 products per day, which will cost you 7.5 CNY per day.

Then for a month, it costs you 225 CNY/RMB.

Then for a year, it costs you 2700 CNY/RMB.

You can put hot water into the bagged product, it is OK, it won’t break.

How it sounds like?

There even got a cheaper solution: PingDuoDuo-拼多多 免煮芥麦面葱油拌面方便面， which only costs you 0.5 CNY per one.

I even tried a more extreme solution: I take food left by customers in KFC and McDonald’s. It is totally free and I feel happy about what I get and eat.

Here are some tips that may help you before you eat the food: 0. watch the customer until they have gone. 1. check the ticket datetime to see if the customer has gone. 2. check if the paper tissue is dirty to see if the user has gone.

8. Escape the street life

If you get tired of living outside, you can live in a hotel, for some of them, even if you live in it 30 days per month, it will only cost you 3000 CNY per month. It’s the most convenient and comfortable way of living in-house alone. (I somehow believe that you could just spend 1500 CNY to do the same thing
