being VS been

Rule

  • Use “being” after the verb “to be” (e.g., am, is, are, was, were).

  • Use “been” after the verb “to have” (e.g., has, have, had, having).

Example

being

My money is being taken away.

I am being a fool recently.

been

It has been a busy week. I nearly have time for personal activity.

Though I have been stupid before, I’ll never be in that status again.
