Serious vs Series

I must say that they are quite similar. 
And I often type them wrong when I write English.

• serious: acting or speaking sincerely and in earnest, rather than in a joking or halfhearted manner. seriously
• series: a number of things, events, or people of a similar kind or related nature coming one after another. a series of xx

But to make our life easier, let’s just remember it by repeating. (Their sounds different actually)
